Meet Skyler Johnson

My name is Skyler Johnson. I was born August 10, 1994 in Dumfries, VA.  I was primarily raised by my single mother and her sister.  When I was in the 4th grade my mother became ill, so my younger sister and I moved to England with our father.  My mom worked a lot of different jobs to try and provide us with the best and for that I will always be grateful.

When we came back to the states I started my first job at the age 8 in a barber shop sweeping up hair and talking out the trash.  I would cut grass in the summer and enjoyed playing all types of sports.  I played football and basketball until my sophomore year.  I stuck with basketball which was one of the best decisions I have ever made because I was given a full ride to the University of Delaware.  Throughout high school I would work at my grandmother’s soul food restaurant Ann’s Wings and Things.  At the age of 18, I became a father to a beautiful daughter, Blake Marie.  Moving to Delaware was exciting but a huge change from VA.

I am in my last year in which I am studying Sociology.  When I finish my time here in Delaware my goal is to go back to Virginia and be proper father to my daughter and pursue and career in real estate and construction.

Proud dad.  Goal oriented.  Determined to succeed.
