Meet Alyssa Frazer

My name is Alyssa Frazer, and this is my story.  I lived all over the tristate area growing up, my parents were divorced so one lived in Maryland, the other lived in Delaware and we moved, what seemed like every single year.  So, I grew up all over the place but was always able to stay in Maryland Schools and graduated from Elkton High School.  While I was in High School, I participated in a dual enrollment program, where I was taking classes in HS and community college in Northeast.  During that time, I was also working two part time jobs.  I continued taking classes at Community College after High School, and now I am finishing up my bachelor’s degree.  When that is complete, I would like to get my master’s degree in Fine Art.

My personal and professional goals are mainly around art and family.  I want to be a better parent, a better friend and a better person.  I want to continue to further my education and learn more about art techniques and color theory.  Knowledge is power, and I want to know as much as possible. Eventually, I want to become a Professor of Fine Arts and inspire others daily.

The person I look up to the most is my younger sister Kayla (who also works at High 5 Hospitality at the Bear Buffalo Wild Wings).  My sister has gone through so much growing up, life was not always easy for us, and she has pushed so hard, to play sports and excel at it, all the while working hard at her High School Classes.  Her hard work and determination paid off, as she got accepted into more colleges than I did.  We may not always get along (like typical siblings) but I look up to her more than anyone else in my life and I am very proud of her.  I should be her role model, yet she is mine.

Maybe you won’t believe this, but I have wanted to work for Buffalo Wild Wings since I was 12 years old.  It was my favorite restaurant and I always loved the servers wearing jerseys.  I tried applying at 16 but the one in my town said I had to be 18.  I finally got the job at Buffalo Wild Wings in Newark when I turned 18.  I started as a cashier and became a server when I turned 19.  Now at 20, I am a server and WCT at the Bear Buffalo Wild Wings location and still enjoy working here the way I did when I first started.   Although the restaurant industry is not my career goal or even on the same field, the hospitality business is a great choice for me, while I am in my college career.  I have learned so much and grown as a person since I started with H5H, not only has it helped me throughout my college career, but it will continue to help me in life.

Performing at a high level is important to me, as it should be, because when you are doing a task or a job, whether it comes to school, your job, your career, you need to show that you care about what you are doing.  I always want to show that I am a hard worker and want to always strive to be better than the day before. That’s my story, I look forward to continuing to write it…..
